AFTER MEALS. Take a walk after meals. Help clean the dining table.

Drinking lots of fluids, especially water. Water is a great way to eliminate the nicotine from your body system as the fluids will metabolize your body’s chemical stores. The only worst side effect that you may encounter is frequent bathroom breaks and a water-logged stomach. The kicker is that the faster the nicotine leaves your body, the sooner the physical symptoms will decrease.

However, few factors may seem to make the withdrawal symptoms stronger rather than weaker. Frequent intake of caffeine may be one of those that may trigger difficult withdrawal symptoms. But it is not applicable for all people. Every situation is quite unique. You will realize it for yourself, because if you are feeling that caffeinated drinks are causing you cravings, you should quit caffeine intake.

Most of the times, giving up many things at the same time may open up another box of Pandora, so what I can offer you is to try cutting back on the caffeine. Fruit juices, water or even ice cream shakes can help cleanse your system and get rid of the withdrawal symptoms in the fastest possible time.

Another conventional side effect of ditching the bad habit of smoking is the difficulty in sleeping. Or sometimes, you can sleep but you are not sleeping soundly. It does not matter how tired you might have been all day, the feeling of uneasiness that your mind is not shutting down for the evening. You can also feel that comfort is nowhere to be found.

You can try a several tips and tricks to overcome your restlessness. The primary thing that you should do is to take a hot steaming bath or take a fresh shower before going into bed. You can also avail of the over-the-counter sleep aid until the symptoms subsides. Just don’t forget that your symptoms will not last forever. It will only last for few days at the most.

You need to look for alternative methods for getting the same ‘fix’ that the cigarettes are giving you and you need to understand that smoking is a habit and only by addressing the habit and the emotions and situations that trigger the habit will you be able to finally quit
